MIXED USE
Coro Hardscrabble, Roswell, GA:
AEC provided planning and entitlement services for this mixed-use development. The project consists of senior living, single-family residential, and commercial uses on a challenging site. Included on the site is an existing lake and creek that had to be incorporated in the design solution.
Johnson Ferry East, Dekalb County, GA:
AEC provided civil engineering and landscape architecture for the mixed project. Previously a low-density public housing complex, the three-phased housing redevelopment consists of 264 units on 23 acres. AEC also designed the common infrastructure for the development of the overall 53 acre site. The site includes components of senior housing, mixed income apartments, retail and office space.
Milton Park, Alpharetta, GA:
AEC was part of the planning team and contributed civil engineer services for the 107 acre mixed use site. The scope of work included infrastructure design for the common area and lake at the existing pond site; in conjunction with detailed analysis of floodplain impacts for Big and Rock Mill Creeks. The analysis included regenerating the modeling of the FEMA flood base condition, as well as the proposed encroachments. The project was an Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) Project of Excellence Award Winner in 2002.
Deerfield Township, Forsyth County, GA:
Deerfield Township is a 165 acre mixed use development that is extending the planned development area of Windward/Deerfield/GA 400 into southern Forsyth County. The Township is a combination of retail, multifamily and residential uses that take advantage of access from four major roads and a planned new interchange, while l preserving over 30 acres along a creek corridor. The development master plan, design standards and architecture provide for walkable/pedestrian scale experience, in a suburban setting.
AEC, Inc. was contracted to provide the design services for the master developer for design standards, landscape architecture, utilities, roundabout and roadway design and pedestrian facilities. Highlights of the AEC planning efforts were the Development of Regional Impact (DRI) assistance, infrastructure planning and analysis and review of floodplain and wetland issues. At build out the project will include 983 residential units and 250,000 square feet of retail/commercial space.
